Sun and rain kill indoor finishes fast. If any seats live outside, split the order into rated outdoor frames rather than sacrificing indoor chairs to the weather.
Powder-coated metal frames are the workhorses: light, stackable, and nearly maintenance-free. Slim hardwood frames warm the room up and still survive service when they're contract-built.
Only if they're outdoor-rated. Aluminum and properly coated steel handle both; indoor wood frames outside is how a seating budget dies in one season.
Programs make sense from about 10–20 chairs. Most cafés order seats plus a few spares in one run so finishes match for years.
Most quotes land between $45 and $160 per chair depending on frame and finish. Below that band the frame or the coating has been cut.
